Everywhere you go in Italy it is impossible not to find a trace of the wine tradition: even the Como area respects this rule and offers to the experts its Terrie Lariane, both white wine and red wine. The Terre Lariane IGT wine is produced with the grapes from Como and Lecco; it is a young production, recognized only starting from the 2018 harvest. The two main areas are the Brianza hills surrounding Montevecchia and the high Como lake, with Damaso as the center.
The white wine is produced with grapes from the Verdese (the local one), Chardonnay, White Pinot, Riesling, Sauvignon and Trebbiano. Meanwhile, for the red wine are used Barbera, Cabernet, Sauvignon, Merlot, Marzemino, Croatina, Sangiovese e Schiava. Different types are proposed: from dry to sweet, from bubbles to passito and not to forget the novello.
In 2009 the “Terre Lariane Consorzio Vini Igt” was born, which counts today around twenty associates and it has as its goal to revamp the wine-producing tradition of the area, back from a long period of abandonment.
