To ease traffic in the city and maximize participant safety, Comune di Como and Prefettura has, together with local authorities, decided to reduce the length of the Gran Fondo Il Lombardia course by 8km – riders will no longer face the climb of San Fermo della Battaglia, reducing their journey to 110.3km from 118.2km.
The main technical features of the course remain the same, including the climbs of Ghisallo, Sormano and Civiglio toward the end of the course. The start time of 7.30am and the start/finish location in Como remains unchanged as per the program.
